After many years' experience of cutting foam wing cores for control line aerobatics models, Owen Rogers has come up with a few clever tricks. Here's my demonstration of the first part of his method - cutting the cores.
The foam is Expol S-Grade expanded polystyrene sheet - 50mm thick, 16kg/m³ density, zero recycled content Basically standard issue insulation sheet from a hardware store (Bunnings).
Other than the template/board assembly, this is probably the simplest method that is reliably self-aligning and symmetrical. There are lots of other demos out there where they make things significantly more difficult than it needs to be. You're not making an SR-71. Keep it simple and get on with building models!
