CLIENT: So, Mr. Advisor, there is no such thing as a free lunch, right?

ADVISOR: Well…maybe if my client takes me out!

CLIENT: That’s not what I meant. You told me there is risk in all investing, but is there anything that is risk-free and can actually make me money?

ADVISOR: There actually is! And while you’re not technically investing, you are earning an excellent profit, with zero risk to your money.

CLIENT: What are we talking about here?

ADVISOR: I’m referring to high yield savings, also known as money market accounts. Due to the overall high interest rates out there, they’re paying anywhere from 4% to 5%, and some even higher. That’s at the same level, or better than what the 10-, 20- and even 30-year government bonds are offering, and much higher than what many blue-chip dividend stocks are paying. And since all money market accounts are protected by the FDIC, this is considered 100% risk free.

CLIENT: So, what are some good accounts?

ADVISOR: They’re all going to be online. Check out Vio Bank and UFB Direct. They’re both offering 5 and a quarter percent right now. There are many others, just do some online research but watch out for minimum deposits and possible fees.
