Kabula County MP-elect Enos K. Asiimwe aka Asiimwe Enos narrowly survived meeting his creator following a suspected assassination attempt after a gunman shot him in the leg at a hotel in Lyantonde on Friday.
According to reports, the deadly shooting happened at Court Yard Hotel in Lyantonde town late at night after Asiimwe had returned to the hotel and was heading to his room when he noticed a man armed with a gun coming from the opposite room.
As soon as he saw the man with a gun, he quickly stepped back into his room and locked the door and the attacker reportedly blocked the door and opened fire, hitting the MP-elect in the leg during the confrontation.
Asiimwe was rushed for treatment and is currently receiving medical care at a private medical centre in Kampal
