In this video, we travel to the state of Mississippi in the United States where parcel shapes are highly irregular due to rolling terrain. Due to undulating project sites and construction variances, shadows appear on the modules, blocking sunlight and lowering planned (and modeled) production.

Standard tracker systems position all rows identically regardless of terrain undulation and construction variance and do not capture as much light as they could. Backtracking can reduce shading in the first hours after sunrise and final hours before sunset at a cost to performance, because height differences between individual rows are not considered.

Also, in regions that are subject to precipitous and hazy skies where sunlight is scattered, losses in production may occur. TrueCapture solves both challenges (terrain undulation and overcast skies) with a unique, integrated approach. Over the course of the day, TrueCapture continuously dispatches optimal tracking algorithms to each tracker row, correcting for shading anomalies caused by uneven ground and changing weather conditions.
