Dear Tai Chi Chuan enthusiasts and friends, hello!
The journey of Master Chen Shidang from the "Shizhong Tai Chi Academy" with Tai Chi began in his youth. At that time, he suffered from a persistent cough due to drinking ice-cold water, which did not heal for a long time. Later, upon a friend's recommendation, he was introduced to "Cheng Man-ch'ing's Tai Chi Chuan". After more than four years of diligent practice, he not only improved his cough and chest tightness but also strengthened his originally weak physique. Through learning the routines and Tai Chi push hands, Master Chen gained deep insights and feelings, which inspired him to make it his life's mission to promote the "Tai Chi health-preserving techniques", hoping to benefit more people.
Although Master Chen Shidang was trained by Master Chen Qukuan of Jiayi, he was greatly inspired by the founder "Cheng Man-ch'ing". "Cheng Man-ch'ing" simplified the Yang-style Tai Chi into "Cheng Man-ch'ing's 37-posture Tai Chi Chuan" and promoted it widely. Master Chen also shoulders the responsibility of inheriting this part of Chinese culture. He is committed to considering the health of the community, continuing the legacy of his predecessors, passing on the Tai Chi exercises that can cure diseases and strengthen the body, and implementing the concept of "Tai Chi in life; life in Tai Chi", which is his lifelong mission and slogan.
