Our guest this week is a hard-charging Hawaiian who will paddle into any death pit or 2XL wave anywhere on the planet. His résumé speaks for itself: he earned a wildcard into the Pipe Masters, won the Backdoor Shootout, received multiple Wave of the Winter nominations, and even claimed Wave of the Decade. This guy has done it all.
But the moment that truly etched his name into surf history was at Teahupoʻo, when he and his jet ski went over the falls on a massive set. Everyone somehow made it out safely nothing short of a miracle. The clip went viral worldwide, and as they say, there’s no such thing as bad publicity. Beyond charging some of the heaviest slabs on Earth, he manages the Quiksilver North Shore Athletic House and has a strong passion for giving back, supporting organizations focused on cystic fibrosis and more. We’re beyond stoked to sit down with a true charger and a legend of our sport Reef “Big Cat” McIntosh.
