Описание: Presenting my latest album - Om Namoh Narayana. This album features Raag Yaman - a Raag to me that feels bright and yellow, like the golden glow of the evening. It has a deep connection energetically to the energy of sparkle, balance, and harmony. To me, it feels so deeply connected to the energy of Lord Narayana - the one who keeps the world sustaining in harmony, in peace and splendor. The alap-jor was a powerful experience for me to sing. While traditionally, the syllables of alap come from taking the mantra “Om Sri Ananta Hari Narayana” and breaking the syllables up and varying them into “ta na ne ri ra na ae na nom Tom om” - the ancient tradition actually kept the mantra intact for the alap-jor portion as a means of musical meditation. In a nod to this style, my jor weaves in and out of the words of the mantra.
