ROAR's latest TRACK ATTACK pays homage to happy hardcore legends JIMMY J, and his old sparring partner LUNA C/CRU-LT, with this uplifting breakbeat hardcore tune which easily sounds like it could have been made by the great men themselves.

DJ SPRATTY - AKA ROBERT SPRATT, 34, from Norfolk - made Don’t Push Me Away in 2019, inspired by with two of their most famous productions - Six Days & Take Me Away - which Spratty cites among his top 10 tracks of all time.

Says Robert: "I used a combination of different breakbeats layered together to form the back-bone of the track and picked the loudest, harshest and most emotional sounding vocal I could find before adding the obligatory uplifting piano and rave stabs to really complete that mid 90’s hardcore sound!"

Robert first got into dance music aged 12 listening to trance, UK Garage and Hard House, before being introduced to happy hardcore by a mate's old sister who played him HIXXY's BONKERS 8 mix in 2002.

"It absolutely blew my mind," says Robert. "After begging to borrow it I finally got it home and played all three discs back to back until my parents couldn’t take it any longer! But it was too late, I was hooked on hardcore and still am to this day!"

Fast forward to 2006 and Robert attended to his first rave, the legendary HYPERBOLIC in Kings Lynn - which is celebrating its 30-year anniversary having given the likes of MC STORM and WHIZZKID their big breaks in the mid-90s - and after that he spent several years travelling the UK raving every weekend.

Now a busy family man he only manages to get out to a handful of raves each year - the latest being last month's '90s Fest, where most of the footage for the video came from - and making Jungle, Drum & Bass, Happy Hardcore, UK Hardcore, Trance, Hardstyle and UK Garage using FL Studio, and an Akai MPK mini keyboard.

Says Robert: "I enjoy dipping my toes into many different genres. Making music for me is just a way to relax and experiment with different sounds and production techniques.

"I make music for myself and never really expect anyone else to like it so I was amazed when Glowkid featured two of my tracks on his Strictly Nuskool blog a few years ago."
