Greg Lewis puts his ballasted Raptor from Baudis through its paces on the hill.
I found this file on my laptop today, which i had forgotten about, and decided to add a title and end credit. I believe my brother David videoed the sequence back in July 2021, at least that's what the file says. This model is not readily available from Baudis but only on 'special order', sozusagen, of 5 or 6 examples, I believe.
The striking thing about this model is its silence and energy retention; on this video consecutive loops show no loss of energy. I have a theory about this, and consecutive stall turns or half-pipes, and that is that we are unwittingly dynamic soaring on the front of the slope with the caveat that the manouevres are done close to the slope. On edged slopes like this one I personally favour flying deep, well below eye level, in order to extract energy. That's my theory at any rate :-)
