Merry Christmas follows the emotional journey of a young girl who loses both her parents before she could even understand the world. She is sent to Mumbai to her uncle’s place, believing she will live with him. But her relatives have secretly told him to drop her off at a child care institution in Goa, in exchange for money. Trusting him completely, she is shattered when he leaves her there. She becomes quiet, distant and withdrawn. Blinded by greed, the uncle fails to see the true value of relationships.
One day, a sister at the institution finds her diary, filled with innocent words of love for her family and especially for her uncle. When the diary is handed over to him, he decides to give her the best Christmas gift, one even Santa couldn’t have given.
