Departing Paradise | Grand Turk Wall Dive, Ocean Swells & Boat Life Reality Aboard our Nordhavn 55

Описание: Flopper stoppers, rolling seas, and wall dives straight off our boat, this is real Nordhavn 55 liveaboard life in the Turks & Caicos. After spending a full month in Providenciales, we finally leave Provo and point our Nordhavn 55 toward Grand Turk and Salt Cay. What should’ve been a simple cruise quickly turns into rolling seas, late sunset arrivals over coral reefs, Starlink drama, and one of the most dramatic wall dives we’ve ever done, where the ocean drops from 25 feet to thousands straight off the back of our boat.

In this episode, we navigate the Turks Passage during humpback whale migration season, anchor late over coral and rock, and wake up to an unreal view off Cockburn Town. Flopper stoppers finally earn their keep after a long, roly night at anchor, and we explain exactly how they work and why they matter. Then it’s time to dive. We plan a conservative wall dive at 65 feet with partial fills, checking the bottom while we’re geared up, and swimming directly from our boat to the famous Grand Turk wall, where caverns, caves, fish-filled ledges, and endless blue drop away beneath us.

Boat life keeps doing what boat life does: dinghy prop damage, spare parts coming out early, changing plans on the fly, and deciding not to anchor at Salt Cay when conditions don’t feel right. Instead, we reroute toward Big Sand Cay for more protection, calmer nights, and smarter cruising. Along the way, we deal with sargassum, shifting depths, and the reality of making real-time decisions offshore.
