Last summer, a gunman broke into the home of State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette and shot both of them multiple times. John was shot nine times. It was the same attacker who shot and killed Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark.
Now, after months of surgeries and physical therapy, Sen. Hoffman is back in his office at the Capitol.
He sat down with MPR News politics editor and Politics Friday host Brian Bakst to recount that night and share what's driving his continued work in public service.
