Eruption in Bali sees formation of volcanic mudflow

(29 Nov 2017) Lava from Bali's Mount Agung volcano has flowed into a nearby village when heavy rain flushed the area around the volcano.
A mudflow of volcanic material and water, known as lahar, has been reaching the village of Sukadana since Tuesday afternoon.
According to local resident Komang Febriana, the lahar flowed down very quickly and formed its own path.
He said on Wednesday it was the first time he had seen such a flow coming down towards the village.
The village of Sukadana is eight kilometres (five miles) from the volcano, and almost all the residents have left for a safer place since the government raised the volcano status to its highest level on Monday
