SK hynix posts record annual profit to surpass Samsung Electronics in 2025

SK하이닉스, 삼성전자 연간 영업익 첫 추월… TSMC 이익률도 제쳐
SK hynix has made history, surpassing Samsung Electronics in annual operating profit for the first time ever.
The chipmaker posted on Wednesday that its preliminary annual operating profit for 2025 was 47-point-two trillion won, or about 32-point-six billion U.S. dollars.
This beats Samsung’s total expected preliminary profit of 43-point-five trillion won.
For the fourth quarter alone, operating profit hit almost 19-point-two trillion won, an operating margin of 58-percent for the period, outperforming global foundry leader TSMC's 54-percent.
To boost shareholder value, the company will retire 15-point-three million treasury shares worth 12-point-two trillion won on February 9th.
We'll know more as SK hynix holds its earnings call this Thursday at 9 AM, followed immediately by Samsung at 10.
