In the Old Testament times, all the sins that people committed
for the past year were transferred onto the sanctuary
and on the Day of Atonement, the scapegoat
took the sins to a solitary place in the wilderness and died,
bringing an end to sin.

The members of the Church of God
keep the Day of Atonement with a repentant heart
The Day of Atonement is a feast that lets us know the sacrifice
of Heavenly Father and Mother, who became the sin offerings.
By making Satan, who caused our sin, pay for all sin,
They make atonement for us.

Isaiah 53:10
Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring . . .
