In June 1967, Israel faced a grave threat from the Arab states, leading to a consequential war that resulted in the occupation of the Sinai Peninsula, the Golan Heights, the West Bank, and, most significantly, East Jerusalem. This marked a historic moment as, for the first time in 2,000 years, Jewish soldiers stood on the sacred mount housing the Al-Aqsa Mosque—a revered site for both Islam and Judaism, including the remnants of Herod's Temple. For the devout soldiers who achieved this victory, it was seen as a divine sign. In the aftermath, a messianic movement aligned with the nationalist right emerged, vehemently opposing any territorial concessions and actively preparing for the next stage: the reconstruction of the Jewish Temple in place of the holy mosques.
This documentary chronicles the ascent of Jewish fundamentalism in Israeli politics and the concurrent expansion of settlements in the West Bank. These developments pose significant challenges to any prospects of an Israel-Palestine peace process.
