Hosts of CNBC and Bloomberg each discuss NVIDIA, NVIDIA stock (NVDA stock), and the NVIDIA OpenAI deal following reports that talks between the two companies had stalled. This past weekend, there were many reports that seem to have conflated Jensen Huang's comments about OpenAI's current funding round with the $100 billion partnership NVIDIA and OpenAI announced in September. NVIDIA plans to invest in OpenAI's current funding round. However, it will not be $100 billion in one single round. OpenAI's current funding round, and the $100 billion with NVIDIA, are two separate things. Also today, Reuters published an article claiming that OpenAI has been looking for alternatives to NVIDIA chips for inference. UPDATE: OpenAI's Sam Altman posted on X, saying that OpenAI loves working with NVIDIA and they make the best AI chips in the world. OpenAI hopes to be a "gigantic customer" of NVIDIA's for a "very long time" according to Altman. Also over the weekend, Oracle announced they will raise $45-$50 billion to fund their AI cloud infrastructure buildout. Oracle mentioned multiple large customers of theirs, and said the buildout of infrastructure is for "contracted demand," meaning Oracle already has immediate demand for the AI infrastructure they will be building. Looking ahead, we have Alphabet earnings on February 4, then Amazon earnings on February 5. What these companies say about CapEx guidance, supply constraints, and their AI strategies will have an impact on NVIDIA. Looking ahead, we have NVIDIA earnings on February 25, 2026. I continue to think that NVIDIA's long-term growth is being underestimated by most analysts. NVIDIA has many large long-term growth opportunities in front of it that are in addition to NVIDIA's large datacenter business. Sovereign AI, enterprise AI, AI-native startups, physical AI, and quantum computing are all large long-term growth opportunities for NVIDIA. Blackwell Ultra is ramping quickly, Rubin is on track to launch in 2026, we're also expecting Rubin CPX at the end of 2026, then we're expecting Rubin Ultra in 2027, and later on we're expecting NVIDIA's Feynman in 2028. We have a clear datacenter product roadmap extending into 2028, and Jensen Huang believes there will be $3T-$4T of global AI factory buildout between now and 2030.
