In this message, Pastor Dave explores the idea of the “stumbling stone.” While our culture is fascinated with scandals—celebrity failures, political drama, and public controversy—the Bible points to a different kind of scandal: Jesus himself.
Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 1 that “we preach Christ crucified,” a message that many see as foolishness or a stumbling block. But through the story of Jesus at Simon the Pharisee’s house in Luke 7, we see the heart of the Gospel. A woman known for her sinful life approaches Jesus in humility and worship—and instead of rejecting her, Jesus offers forgiveness.
The real scandal is this: Jesus welcomes sinners and has the authority to forgive their sins.
So the question remains for all of us:
What will you do with Jesus?
