Hex Enduction Hour is The Fall at their most fearless. Recorded in part at a disused cinema in Iceland, the album is full of reverb-drenched drums, jagged guitar riffs, surreal lyricism, and anti-production aesthetics that reject any notion of polish. It’s a manifesto for creative autonomy—frantic, unfiltered, and uncompromising. Mark E. Smith envisioned it as a final statement, though The Fall would go on to release dozens more records. Still, Hex remains arguably their most essential.
