MMC Ignored Garbage Dumping Complaints Before Youth’s Death: Councillor

Описание: Councillor Prakash Bhiv Shet has questioned the Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) over its alleged failure to act against illegal garbage dumping despite repeated complaints and photographic evidence.
Speaking on the issue, Bhiv Shet said he had sent photographs showing trucks dumping garbage in the area, and the images were even published in newspapers. However, he alleged that no action was taken by the municipality at the time.
He further stated that police acted swiftly only after a youth allegedly threw garbage at the site.
Referring to the tragic death linked to the garbage dispute, Bhiv Shet said timely intervention by the authorities could possibly have prevented the loss of the youth’s life.
