Join us as we immerse ourselves in the magic of Christmas in Savannah, Georgia, surrounded by enchanting holiday markets, a historic 167-year-old fountain transformed with splendor, and breathtaking decorations that radiate the warmth and joy of the season.

Our Christmas adventures starts off here at Skidaway Island State Park where we will camp for only one night. It's a lovely campground with spacious sites and some even have full hook ups. Airidessa Airstream is more than happy to relax here while we go venture into downtown Savannah for a festive evening.

The Forsyth Fountain has stood at the heart of Savannah for over 150 years. Since 1858 she has served as a symbol of our city's grace and enduring beauty.
Inspired by a design from the J.P. Iron Foundry near Paris, France, Savannah’s fountain was ordered from the Janes, Beebe & Co. catalog as “Model #5.” Installation began in July of 1858, and the fountain was first turned on just one month later in August. Since then, the fountain has become a defining feature of Forsyth Park and one of the most photographed sites in the Southeast.

We absolutely loved our short but action-packed adventure here at Skidaway Island State Park! We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a day trip to Savannah or an extended stay of two weeks - the possibilities are endless! There's so much to do in the area, and we only touched the surface in these last 20 hours.

And this location is actually Georgia's biggest of the three Buc-ees !

Not only did we get some ridiculously good fuel mileage. We were shocked to see all these totally unexpected fall colors in Florida at thr end up of December!

The final destination on this festive adventure is historic Saint Augustine, the oldest European city in America, where we will immerse ourselves in the magic of the season with their breathtaking and world-renowned Christmas light display
