In the Spirit of Pilgrimage | A Centennial Celebratory Procession

Описание: An Indian-style devotional procession of SRF monastics, led by SRF/YSS President Brother Chidananda on January 5, 2020 at 8 a.m., inaugurated the Centennial of Paramahansa Yogananda’s coming to America and founding Self-Realization Fellowship to disseminate the teachings of Kriya Yoga worldwide.

On the birth anniversary of Sri Yogananda, this celebration took place on the grounds of the SRF International Headquarters in Los Angeles. Carrying a flower-bedecked palanquin bearing the image of the great Guru, SRF monastics chanted Jai Guru (“Victory to the Guru”) and Joy, Joy, Joy to the accompaniment of kirtan instruments such as harmonium, khol (drum), and kartal (cymbals).

In the traditional Indian manner, Brother Chidananda offered his obeisance to the guru by showering rose petals throughout the procession; conches were blown to signify the Aum vibration; and holy Ganges water was sprinkled at the head of the procession.
