Middle East - Agreement Over Prisoners

Hours after the Knesset, Israel's parliament, approved an
agreement on expanding Palestinian self-rule in the West Bank,
President Ezer Weizman said Friday (6/10) he decided to pardon 12
Palestinian women but to keep two others behind bars. "Before
their release all the 12 prisoners will sign a commitment they
will comply with the law and refrain from acts of terror, in
accordance with a government decision," said Aryeh Shumer, an
adviser to Weizman.

prisoners, that is what was agreed upon according to the peace
deal. He also added that the redeployment would be starting
soon.
Sot minister of justice Abu Medein (english) saying that Israel
they have to start to free the women. Weizman wants to check case
by case. that is fully against the agreement. If Israel wants to
go against the agreement, it would be a bad sign.

Shumer sot (hebrew) saying that Israel had a list with fourteen
female palestinian prisoners, and of those, twelve will be
released, while the two convicted for murder will remain in
custody.
