Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction is one of my favorite interviews I’ve ever done. I’m coming up on 600 interviews so there have been quite a few, but Perry is one of those unique talents. He’s the Godfather of Alternative rock, the kinds of music that was created for the outcasts and the strange ones like you and me. I mean he started Lollapalooza THE live event of my generation. Gen X,

he has created may songs that have been the supreme soundtrack of our coming of age years. and today we are presenting the story of arguably their greatest composition and the one that put them on the map. Jane Says. from their essential 1988 LP Nothing’s Shocking. Unfortunately due to YouTube policy we have to blur the controversial cover. But it’s a brilliant cover that Perry actually created with Paper Mache and he tells that story in our interview. I always love it when a song has a mystery to solve.

When I first heard the song so many years ago, I was extremely curious who Jane was and then I heard the urban legend that the band was also named after this same Jane. Perry tells us about the real jane and how she inspired the song.
