This soulful performance -- a lovely evocation of New Orleans -- took place on Sunday night, June 1, 2025. The four creators here are Scott Robinson, Albert system clarinet; Danny Tobias, trumpet and Eb alto horn; Matt Munisteri, guitar; Neal Miner, double bass. The site for this eloquent chamber piece was The Ear Inn, 326 Spring Street, Soho, New York City. Recorded and presented with gratitude by Michael Steinman for JAZZ LIVES (http://www.jazzlives.wordpress.com).
If that clarinet sounds especially lovely and soulful, it is because it is a beautiful gift: once the cherished property of Dr. David A. Wasserman of Fort Lee, New Jersey. Dr. Wasserman left us a few months earlier, but his love for the music comes through in Scott's playing, delicate and passionate. What we love lives on.
