Before anything can be baked, the flour needs to be delivered, the dough needs shaping, and the prep table must come alive — and that’s exactly what the dogs will explore.

At the heart of the stall, we’ll set up a large “flour pit,” surrounded by soft kraft-paper “flour sacks,” wooden spoons resting on boards, and little “dough bundles” made from cozy fabrics. The air will carry warm notes of oats and chamomile, creating a sensory atmosphere that feels like a bakery in the middle of prep day — calm, warm, and full of quiet work.

The dogs will be invited to step into the pit and investigate first with their noses, then with their paws. Some may gently dig through the soft “flour,” shifting sand to reveal new textures underneath. Others might nudge the dough bundles or check what has settled beside them. A few will likely explore the flour sacks, listening to the soft rustle of paper as they examine the edges. Everywhere, dogs will follow scent trails, investigate textures, and discover tiny, safe rewards tucked into corners.

It will be an incredibly grounding experience — one that encourages slow exploration, confident digging, and thoughtful investigation. The Bakery Stall won’t be “open” just yet, but thanks to the dogs’ careful prep work tomorrow, it will be well on its way. The Market is taking shape, one calm, cozy moment at a time.
