台灣火刺木又稱「狀元紅」，是台灣特有種，其果實經常吸引各種鳥類啄食。
五色鳥又被稱為「台灣擬啄木」、「花和尚」，是台灣特有種，全身有紅、黃、綠、藍、黑五種顏色，有著像敲木魚般的「嘓嘓嘓」鳴叫聲。
五色鳥的繁殖期為四至八月，會在木質較軟且乾燥的樹幹上啄樹洞築巢。
Formosa Firethorn is endemic to Taiwan. The fruit often attracts various birds to peck.
Taiwan Barbet, also known as "five-colored bird," "Taiwan woodpecker," and "flower monk," is endemic to Taiwan. They have five colors of red, yellow, green, blue, and black. Their call sounds like knocking on a wooden fish.
The breeding season of Taiwan Barbet is from April to August. They will peck holes on tree trunks that are soft and dry.
