Day Old Chick Basics: Simple Brooder Set Up!

Описание: A brooder is the first home your chicks will have for the first 2 to 4 weeks of their lives.

A brooder can be basic not fancy but make sure you have all the necessities for your new baby chicks.

At 3 weeks, you will need to move them to a larger space or section off an area inside their permanent coop till they are 6 weeks. Then they can use the whole coop and maybe part of run.

This is what you will need for a basic brooder:

A large clear storage tub (tote) with a lid
A small reflective clip on light (use a 40 watt bulb)
Newspaper or paper towels to line the bottom
Small flake pine shavings or fine hay
A plastic waterer and feeder (place each on small plate or board for stability)
Purina Chick Starter (unmedicated)
Nutri-Drench Liquid Vitamins for water
