how to tie a Sarong or Malong for women Part 2.
"Boluthoan" (or Bothoan) is a filipino term for a place to teach, where you can learn something.
In the boluthoan series its more about language than fighting. My students and friends who are also FMA practitioners ask me if I can make a list with all the translations and terminologies. So instend of just typing a list with translations I decided to make some short explaination videos, with the philosophy "learning by doing".
Most of the movements are nothing new to the FMA world, but while doning that you can lern something about the filipino language and culture.
In the world of filipino martial arts you will find plenty of spanish or english terminologies for movements. I understand the spanish influence is a part of the filipino culture but I personally perfer to use words or terms which a pure filipino. So it comes that most of the time the words that I use are Ilonggo/Hiligaynon, Because my homeplace in the Philippines is Negros Occidental.
I want to keep the language through the martial art alive and share it with people who practice filipino martial arts. Because language is also an important part of the filipino identity.
If you know all the movements and like the terminologies I shared, you are free to use it. I'am glad if people wants to be part of the renaissance of filipino language.
Maraming Salamat (thank you very much)
