In his hand, a small cup of sake trembles only slightly with the rhythm of the cascade. He drinks not for celebration, nor for sorrow alone, but for remembrance. Each sip carries the echo of old banners, fallen comrades, and a name once spoken with honor.
The mountain wind weaves through the spray, cold and cleansing. His blade lies across his lap, silent but faithful, its steel reflecting fragments of moonlight through the falling water. Here, beneath the roaring sky and river, he allows himself a rare stillness.
He is lost—not without direction, but without attachment.
The waterfall takes his regrets.
The sake warms what remains.
And when the cup is empty, the wandering will begin again.
