Edward and Eric Campbell, a father and son, left their home in Alvin, Texas on a road trip at Christmastime in 2014. They packed up their vehicle with camping gear, and headed out for the road.
They were not just camping, however.
One week later, emergency services in the area of Oak Hill, North Carolina, responded to a house fire where the elderly homeowners - Jerome and Dora Faulkner - were no where to be found; their house left in ruins.
On New Years Day 2015, the pieces of this bizarre and tragic puzzle began to come together when a vehicle with North Carolina plates was pulled over on the highway in West Virginia. The father and son's multi-state crime spree had come to an end.
With their arrests, there were some facts that seemed certain - but many questions remained.
