I Filmed Adorable Sea Otter Moms and Pups From a Kayak!

Описание: On a recent visit to Moss Landing, California, I set out in a kayak searching for Sea Otters. I was really hoping to find a young Sea Otter pup, and I ended up finding two! There were cute, heartwarming moments between the first Sea Otter mom and her pup. Then after hearing some crying in the distance, I was surprised at what I saw next…another pup! Seeing the interactions between this second mom and her crying pup was both comical and sweet. Some of the more memorable moments from kayaking the Elkhorn Slough were hearing the pup’s persistent squeals, mom eating crabs and sharing with her demanding pup, and Sea Otter moms grooming, nursing and cuddling their pups.

🎥 All of the footage in this video was taken with a telephoto lens and teleconverter, at a focal length of 700mm. Some clips were also cropped in tighter during post production.

⚠️ We were sure to keep the kayak a safe distance from the Sea Otters, and even paddled backwards quite often to give them more space. Our number one priority was to put the animals first and not disturbing their natural behaviors, or make them feel threatened.
