In this episode of Singapore’s Most Haunted, Keith heads to St John’s Island for an overnight stay.
Just a short ferry ride from mainland Singapore, the island appears quiet and peaceful. But for over a century, it served as a quarantine station for infectious diseases. People who arrived sick were sent here, separated from the mainland and kept in isolation.
Keith sets up camp and waits for night to fall.
As darkness settles in, he explores the island’s most talked-about areas and reflects on the real stories behind this place — from disease containment to rehabilitation programmes, and the communities that once lived and worked here.
Was this island simply a public health facility, or does its long history of isolation leave something behind?
Keith
