Lovely Rita

Описание: Rita, my corgi & lil partner for the last 12 years, is no longer with us as of July 2nd, 2025. She's now resting easy from our fight against her hip dysplasia that started to flare up at the beginning of October 2024. Today would've been her 12th birthday. Every day that she could, Rita had the spirit of a pup & enjoyed life to the fullest. I did my best to make sure she could sustain that spirit throughout all of this. She was diabetic for 3 years and while cataracts developed a little bit, she actually didn't lose her vision. She got to enjoy what she loved about life to the last day.

Rita and I fought so hard against her developing hip dysplasia, but by the end it was definitely time. The fight was done & we both did all we could. We don't have to worry about her struggle or pain anymore. Rather than mourn I'd like to celebrate her life & the fighting spirit she maintained. By the end when I sat with her, I felt that we were both exhausted pushing through in hopes of getting better. A lot of money was spent and I was driving her weekly to a physical therapist that was an hour away & the progress shown and return of her smile on some days made these efforts worth it. In the end though, her condition rapidly worsened & with that I knew this was it, this is no way for a dog to have to live. I'm happy that she got to play and have fun and meet so many people; everyone that made Rita's day happier through physical or financial support has my eternal gratitude. Thank you everyone.
