Democracy requires 'equal treatment' by government: The Voice to Parliament

“The way the voice would work, Indigenous Australians would have two options if they want to influence public policy… they can lobby their politicians… but they could also use their representative on the voice to have a second channel which is not available to non-Indigenous Australians,” Mr Merritt told Sky News host James Morrow.

“The logic for a voice by its proponents is that Indigenous people are the only group in society that has a special provision in the constitution.”
