Baton Rouge Woman Asking for Donations for Wheelchair Van

Описание: A Baton Rouge woman is seeking assistance to purchase a much needed wheelchair van. 24-year-old Roddneicka Joseph has suffered mobility issues since she was a baby in addition to being born prematurely. A procedure was done on her legs when she was a little girl to help correct her walking. Years later, Joseph suffered a life-changing injury in a middle school dance class. After going through several tests, an MRI and a spinal tap after the accident, she was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy, Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuritis and other issues that are still affecting her spinal cord. Joseph struggles to walk without assistance and also uses a wheelchair. The traumatic injury has also caused additional health problems including gastroparesis. Gastroparesis and other gastrointestinal issues she's dealing with stemmed from the multiple surgeries she's had because of her injury. With medical bills piling up for Joseph and her family, they need financial support. Her family reached out to the Help Hope Live Foundation because insurance will not cover the $60,000 that's needed to purchase a wheelchair van. She started the campaign in 2021, but then had to restart it in 2025. So far, she only has $115....a long way from $60,000. Despite everything she has gone through in life she is still fighting on. She is still finding ways to live a beautiful life. One of those ways is by being in school. She's currently studying to be a medical assistant because she wants to help others the ways her doctors and other medical professionals have helped her on her journey.
