Bernalillo County, New Mexico- On February 17, 2026, at approximately 1:18 a.m., deputies responded to a reported of a domestic violence incident at 768 NM 333.
A female caller reported that a male suspect was armed with a handgun. While deputies were en route to the location, dispatch received multiple updates indicating that shots had been fired at the residence.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered a male at the scene. He was taken into custody following the deployment of a Taser.
One child was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female and another child were transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. The identities of those involved will be released after next of kin notifications anre completed. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
