The Surgery:
We began the hair transplant day by outlining the areas to be implanted and the area from which the donor strip would be removed from. The patient was comfortable and only felt a bit of pain when the injections of the pain killer were given. After that he felt nothing. The strip was removed from the donor area which contained the new hair follicles. The small incision was then closed and covered easily with his surrounding hair.

The hair bearing skin was taken to four dissection rooms within our clinic where our in-house technicians very carefully divided the grafts out of the skin. As that was being performed the doctor made tiny incision sites less than one millimeter each in the recipient area. That is, in the hairline and front third. The patient felt nothing.

The patient was given a quick lunch and our in-house technicians then began to plant the grafts into the slits made by the doctor. The grafts are very small so magnifiers were used for this portion of the hair transplant. After about 6 hours the procedure was complete. The patient was given some instructions and sent home. He came back 10 days later to have the sutures/staples removed. No more visits are required after that, but Dr. Feller and Dr. Bloxham ask all patients to visit when they can so they can see the results of their work and perhaps share them online.

One year later this patient returned with a very pleasing, but not surprising, result.
