The magic of the particular moment and the magic that combines seemingly incompatible instruments – accordion and harpsichord. And the melody of Astor Piazzolla, a prominent Argentine composer! Virtuoso performers - Eugene Cherkazova and Svitlana Shabaltina - broaden our musical horizons on TEDxKyiv stage.
Yevheniya Cherkazova — People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor, Head of the bayan and accordion department at Petro Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, founder of accordion orchestra Grand Accordion. Duet of Yevheniya and her musical instrument impressed us with its perfection, both visually and auditory.
Svitlana — founder of Ukrainian harpsichord school. In 1990-1992 was a trainee of well-known harpsichordist E. Stefanska at Krakow Music Academy. In 1995 — founded the harpsichord class at Petro Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, since 2000 — professor of the department of Early Music. Author of the book "Harpsichord through centuries." Essentially, popularity of harpsichord in Ukraine owes to the creative activity of Svitlana Shabaltina.
