Today we are giving these BPW axles a proper refresh by redoing the wheel bearings and replacing the spring eye bushes to get rid of slop, noise and uneven wear. We will run through the process step-by-step: pulling the hubs, cleaning and packing bearings, fitting seals, setting bearing preload, and then swapping the spring eye bushes so the suspension tightens up like it should.
If you’re chasing the causes of wobble, vibration, uneven tyre wear, hot hubs or clunks in the suspension, this is a solid maintenance job that makes a big difference.
