Описание: Silvopasture is an agroforestry practice that sustainably develops and produces timber, livestock, and forage. Current technologies, such as portable electric fence and management intensive rotational grazing enable managers options not available in previous decades. A key need for many northeastern landowners who manage livestock is to transition some of their woodlands into silvopasture. This webinar will discuss thinning methods for sunlight, tree selection, and working with foresters. The webinar is presented by Dr. Peter Smallidge, NYS Extension Forester and Director of Cornell’s Arnot Teaching and Research Forest. Presented June 18, 2014.
