In his first interview since lifting the trophy, India captain Suryakumar Yadav speaks to The Indian Express about the 18-month plan to build a new culture from scratch and the tough conversations he had to have with his players in order to get the best out of them during the high-stakes knockout matches. SKY revealed that the last speech inside the dressing room after the T20 World Cup 2026 trophy win. India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in Ahmedabad to win the title for a record third time, with Gambhir and Suryakumar instilling a new mantra in the side since their win in 2024. Since the duo came together, India have yet to lose a bilateral series in the format and also won the 2025 Asia Cup. Having talked about making the players focus on the team's success instead of milestones, Suryakumar said that Gambhir's final speech to the side also echoed the same sentiment.
