To include vegetable salad in your diet , use diet-friendly salad ingredients. Those are salad toppings that are packed with nutrients, full of flavor, naturally lower in fat, and properly portioned.
Following have been included in the salad - Mushroom, Broccoli, Bell pepper and paneer.
Mushroom - All types of edible mushrooms contain varying degrees of protein and fibre. They also contain B vitamins as well as a powerful antioxidant called selenium, which helps to support the immune system and prevent damage to cells and tissues.
In particular, white button mushrooms are one of the few non-animal sources of vitamin D. When they are grown, whether indoor or outdoor, they are exposed to UV light which increases their concentration of vitamin D.
Broccoli - Broccoli is a good source of fibre and protein, and contains iron, potassium, calcium, selenium and magnesium as well as the vitamins A, C, E, K and a good array of B vitamins including folic acid.
Bell pepper (Red and Yellow capsicum) - They’re packed with vitamins and low in calories! They are an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin C, and potassium. Bell Peppers also contain a healthy dose of fiber, folate, and iron.
Paneer - Paneer is an excellent source of protein especially for vegetarians who do not get their intake from meat products. It is also a rich source of selenium and potassium. Potassium benefits in curbing memory loss and selenium is useful in infertility treatments. Paneer also has calcium. It helps in building stronger teeth and bones.
