Big Blocks Quilt Pattern Featuring a Square in a Square

Описание: I liked a quilt pattern with big pieces of fabric and big blocks. The quilt comes together quickly and there is usually a big bold design. This quilt pattern is no exception. This square in a square block features a 20 x 20 inch square in the center made up of 3 fabrics and 2 20 x 20 inch squares that are cut into triangles to be used to border the 20 x 20 inch center block. The square in a square block tops out at a whopping 32" block. Make 4 of them and you've got a nice lap size quilt. Make 6 of them and this quilt is going to be huge. Focus Fabric for center block is cut at 12 1/2" by wof, 2nd strip of center block is cut at 5 1/2" by wof, and the third strip is cut at 3 1/2" by wof. Sew 3 sets of the 3 strips together. Cut the strips at 20". You should get 2 center blocks from each strip set giving you a total of 6. Then create two 20 x 20" blocks that will be cut on the diagonal to give you four triangles to make the square in a square. I added a 4" border to each side of the quilt.
