Описание: Nine teams of horses of several different breeds do extended trots and enthrall the audience on the back lawn of the Elms, a summer cottage in Newport, Rhode Island, USA. Each team of four horses pull nineteenth century coaches guided by a driver called a whip and a lot of other people in period dress, a hornblower, grooms, and coachmen. The horses weigh 1200 pounds on average and can pull twice their weight. The horses, their harnesses, the brass fittings, and the coaches are polished bright. As the horses high step, their harnesses jingle and the hornblowers announce their presence. The Newport Preservation Society sponsors this event every three years over a three-day weekend. The horses and coaches also parade throughout the Newport streets.
