James Kennerley performs Samuel Barber's powerful Adagio for Strings, arranged for the organ by William Strickland. The piece allows the extraordinary dynamic range of the "Mighty Kotzschmar" to be fully exploited, along with seamless crescendos, diminuendos, and the display of many of the instrument's string stops.
Recorded live in concert in July 2021 on the Kotzschmar Memorial Organ at Merrill Auditorium in the City Hall, Portland, Maine (James is the Municipal Organist).
