Описание: Instead of a normal wooden bed, she masons a sleeping platform out of heavy clay bricks directly connected to her stove’s flue (The Kang Bed). The town mocks her for sleeping on "hard rocks." But when the firewood supply runs out in the middle of a blizzard, the thermal mass of the bricks (heated from the days before) keeps her warm for 48 hours without a single flame, saving her from freezing.
