💡In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the steps to set up an Ubuntu 20.04 VPS with a graphical user interface. This setup will make managing your server easier and more intuitive.
👉Here’s a quick reference of the commands we used:
1. `apt update` - Updates the package list.
2. `apt upgrade` - Upgrades outdated packages.
3. `apt install ubuntu-desktop` - Installs the Ubuntu desktop environment.
4. `apt install xrdp` - Installs XRDP for remote desktop access.
5. `nano /etc/resolv.conf` - Edits the DNS configuration file.
6. Change `nameserver 127.0.0.53` to `8.8.8.8`.
7. `systemctl start xrdp` - Starts the XRDP service.
8. `systemctl enable xrdp` - Enables XRDP to start on boot.
9. `adduser xrdp ssl-cert` - Adds XRDP user to the SSL certificate group.
10. `ufw allow 3389` - Allows connections through the firewall.
11. `ufw reload` - Applies firewall changes.
12. `reboot` - Restarts the server.
