Drawing fantasy scenes has been my fallback since I was a kid. I fell in love with the concept art and illustrations from video games, books, and shows from the 90s, and their influences has always been hidden in my art. The art from Nintendo and Super Nintendo era games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and Street Fighter have always been so inspiring. This art book has been a way for me to figure out how to bring those influences into the work I want to make.
This most notable thing this project has shown me is that I still have no direction. My style is not something that is easily marketable. These are not images that would look good or make sense on a t-shirt or sticker. I have no story, no theme, no direction. I do feel like I've found something closer to what I've been aiming for, but now I need to decide on if this is actually worth the work I've put in. I only have a few pages left before the book is complete and I can put it out "there".
