In this episode of the ’62 Dodge Dart build, we start prepping the original stainless steel trim to fit the new roof.
Because of the roof swap, the factory drip rail molding no longer fits the way it used to. Every piece needs to be cut and reshaped to match the new profile — and there’s no room for error.
Cut it too short, and it’s almost impossible to make it look right again.
These stainless pieces are highly visible. They’re meant to shine. They’re meant to look perfect. And there are a few tricky connecting sections that make the job even tougher.
This is one of those steps that doesn’t get a lot of attention but it makes all the difference.
Can we make the original chrome work on the new roof?
Precision cuts. Careful reshaping. And a whole lot of patience.
